Council Finance

The Parish Council are by law entitled to raise money from the residents of the parish in order to allow them to conduct their business. This sum of money raised is referred to as the 'PRECEPT' and it is collected by the Principle Authority (South Ribble Borough Council) on behalf of the parish by way of the Council Tax and appear on residents Council Tax bills as a separate item although collected as part of the whole.

In the financial year 2008/9 the Precept was levied at a figure of £19000.00 across approx 1000 residential properties meaning on average each household paid £19.00 per year (36.5p per week) for parish services which included the cost of the lengthsman scheme.

The 'Precept' for 2009/10 was set at  £19900.00

The 'Precept' for 2010/11 has been set at £19900.00 (No increase on the previous year)
